I didn't want to
be a saint

A moving story of resilience, healing and the quiet power of reclaiming one's life.

I was born to Irish parents in postwar Australia and grew up far from the family I began with, a childhood shaped by loss, a strict religious upbringing, and experiences it would take me decades to understand and make peace with. What I know now is that even the hardest beginnings can be survived, and that healing, though rarely quick, is always possible.

That belief became my life's work. I'm a Reiki Master, and for many years I've walked alongside others as they find their own way toward peace through energy healing, meditation, mindfulness and EFT. I'm a mother and a grandmother, and I've been writing this memoir for more than twenty years. It's the story I needed to tell, and I hope it reminds you that no beginning has to decide how your story ends. Namaste.
